Enjoying Sports with an Injury: Comparison of Crutches vs. AlternativesWhen you are stuck on crutches for the spring and summer months, you might feel like you have to sit on the sidelines of any of the sports you enjoyed in the past.  However, staying active when you are injured is actually a good idea.  Playing sports on crutches, t though, is simply hard to do.  Here are some of the sports you might enjoy playing and a comparison of how you can enjoy them on crutches versus alternatives to crutches.

Golf

If you have to hold a crutch in each hand, how are you going to swing your club?  If you like to walk your golf course, you wouldn’t be able to carry your golf bag either.  Golfing and crutches are not a very good mix.

The Hands Free Crutch could come in very handy in this sport as well.  You can stand on your good leg and use the knee of your other leg to balance you as you swing away at the little while ball.  You still might consider getting a cart, though, so you don’t wear yourself out.
